Man Who Built A Real-Sized Noah’s Ark Wants To Sail It To Israel

Businessman Johan Huibers, who in 2012 constructed a life-size replica of Noah’s Ark based on the description in the Bible, plans to sail the vessel through the waters of Israel according to a recent interview.

According to the Genesis Flood Narrative, in chapters 6–9, Noah’s Ark appears as the vessel in which God spares Noah, his family, and a remnant of all the world’s animals from a world-engulfing flood.

Curiously, the dimensions of the ark are based on numerology. For example, the length: 300 cubits, is 60×5, and the height, 30 cubits, is 60/2. As noted by scholars, the same preoccupation with the number sixty characterizes the vessel of the Babylonian flood-hero.

“My favorite destination for the ark is Israel,” explained Huibers, 60, who admits that his love for the Hebrew country and its people was one of the reasons why he raised about $ 5 million to carry out this fascinating project, reports JTA.

The Dutch entrepreneur says that six years ago, in 2012, he wanted to take the Ark to Israel because “it is a copy of God’s ship” and “it only makes sense to take it to the land of God,” although the fires that took place in this country made it impossible.

“It may sound scary, but I believe everything written in this book, cover to cover,” he explained while pointing at a copy of a translation into Dutch of the Hebrew Bible.

“This is a copy of God’s ship. It only makes sense to take it to God’s land,” he said in the interview.

Now, he wants to sail the Ark to Israel but getting there might be a huge problem.

Huibers explained that currently, the only obstacle to realizing this dream is money. He needs around $1.3 million for the boat to reach the Hebrew country since the ark has no engine and in order to get there, he would need to use tugboats.

The ark, which Huibers claims he built with just seven people throughout four years, ‘proves that the biblical figure could indeed build Noah’s Ark.’

Although many people believe Noah’s ark was real, no evidence has yet been discovered to support the Biblical claims.

I have reported in the past that a number of explorers claimed to have found the remains of Noah’s ark.

According to a group of researchers from China, not only did Noah’s ark exist, but it rests on a mountain in Turkey.
